Hosted by Mary Lee Underberg and Pam Harens.

There will be traditional songs and instruments from various regions of South America, as well as dancers in traditional clothing. El Dia Colombiano: Colombian Culture Day, presented by the Abel family, waiting-to-be FANA mom Amy Kinsman and some yet-to-be-determined young adult FANA adoptees. Join us for a day of fun! Some examples of the things we might do:

  • Learn Spanish words and songs
  • Learn Colombian geography, customs, and food

El Dia is for children entering kindergarten through third grade. Includes lunch. (We will accept pre-school children who are used to a classroom setting, potty trained and able to spend several hours away from parents without tears.)

Family Christmas Party: Come celebrate the holiday season with other FANA friends. There will be crafts for the kids, and drinks and a light dinner will be served. A special visitor has also volunteered to come bearing gifts and spreading some holiday cheer with a surprise visit! Each child will have time to discuss their Christmas wish list with the big guy in red and each child will receive a small gift. Families are encouraged to provide details about your child in advance, so Santa can use the insider information when talking to your child. There will be lots of time to take photos in a low-stress, non-mall setting. Hosted by Therese Marso and Meredith Hinke.
Handmade Card Making Party: Have you ever wanted to make handmade cards but didn’t know where to begin? Thought…I could never do that? In the end finding yourself at the store paying $4.00 for one card? If so, this is for you. Sarah Christopherson, FANA mom, will provide the designs, the directions, the paper, envelopes, all necessary supplies, and even food. You simply have to put the cards together. In the end you will leave with 15 handmade cards (3 each of 5 different designs) and coordinating envelopes. Keep them to use yourself or give them as a gift. Wondering if it is worth it? Ask past participants Cheri Schoonveld, Dana Ochocki, Pam Harens, or Marcia Abel.

Depending on your distance from the Sullivans' St. Paul residence, your cookies will either be hand-delivered to you on the 15th of each month, or mailed out to you via U.S. priority mail.
